This looks pretty amazing, but it will require Live 8. It's a little frustrating how frequently ableton releases new versions for purchase. For past version upgrades, it seemed like a lot of the enhancements were too minor to justify a new release. I'll still buy it though.
that akai apc40 looks rad too
too bad somebody can't mix that with the new vestax... the ultimate super duper controller... i'm definitely picking that vestax up soon!!!

mmm... too bad i already got a monome... its nice though that there are 3 color leds here. looks like fun!
is the vestax out yet? i'm looking into either building my own, lemur, or getting another pre-fab design.

the vestax is only avail in 2 stores, djdeals seems to be the cheap one
buying in feb for sure.
looks like the perfect option for ableton and traktor studio/pro users
my buddy saw it at the last namm and the prototype was all metal and solid. i'm sure the production version is prob plasticy, but he said it was a solid controller and probably does solve a lot of probs for people who need something more than the uc-33e or dont want to fuss with the novation remote

max for live looks REALLY cool and is the first new feature for Live that makes me want to upgrade from 6. max has a way of sucking you deep into the rabbit hole, so fair warning to anyone who has never used it before. i especially like the idea of building your own little sequencers for use within Live.
I'm with Alland, I'm waiting on someone to make a controller that is a hybrid between the new touch and that vestax. I love the mini-monome on the touch, and I like that it has 8 sliders and a bunch of rotary encoders with feedback from Live. however I still need designated knobs per channel like on the Vestax. why only 6 channels on that one???

fucked with the vestax at namm myself.

Just wish it wasn't soooo damn expensive. Might have to stick with my $199 UC33e for a while longer.
Anybody know some scary Russians that might want to stake out the Guitar Center loading dock?
then again... Roman is a six-degree kung fu master... maybe not.. :D

@j. rogers - did you get a chance to check out the lemur? i'm wondering what you thought about that vs the vestax?

I did not. Was only there for a short day this time. And was....slightly incapacitated....

That new Vestax mixer looks pretty spiffy. Is it for sale now?

im sure the finished version will be a metal case as well. the other vestax controllers are all solid metal.
