The San Francisco LovEvolution needs volunteers!

As you may know, the organization behind this massive celebration is grassroots and not for profit so everything that is accomplished year in and year out is a result of many generous people giving up their free time and efforts in the spirit of love.

Last year as a result of volunteer efforts, we pulled off the biggest success yet with over 100,000 revelers and 0 incidents. I want to invite you to help us execute an even bigger success this year.

As in previous years, we will need two teams of volunteers to help out on Friday Oct 2 and Saturday Oct 3...

On Friday we need an Assembly Team at the assembly lot (Lot A @ AT&T Park) to supervise the float decoration activities from 12pm to 11pm. We need 2-3 volunteers to be on site at all times. These 2-3 positions can be split up into shifts depending on the hours of availability of the team members. This role requires that you walk around and monitor assembly activities making sure all the float organizers follow the simple rules. This is a great opportunity to meet float organizers and observe how all the magic comes together from the empty flatbeds and work crews pulling into the lot to the sound checks at the end of the day.

On Saturday morning we need 2-3 people to show up at the assembly lot at 9am to make sure all the floats have left for the staging area by 10:30am. Once the last float leaves, you're done!

At 11am we need a Parade Team of 10 volunteers to meet at 111 Minna Gallery to get organized for parade duties. This team will be spread across the parade caravan monitoring the safe movement of the floats along the parade route and the parking of the floats at the festival grounds. This commitment starts at 11am and ends at 1:15 to 3pm depending on where in the caravan you are. Volunteers are given a choice in where along the caravan they want to be.

At 8:30pm to 12 midnight, we need 2 volunteers at the assembly lot to monitor the float clean up activities. Reliability in this role is absolutely key! Every year our biggest problem is with deserters in this role so a responsible person who completes this task will be rewarded nicely.

All of these roles are very easy to accomplish. Half the job is showing up, the other half is paying attention.

All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt that commemorates their service to this year's event. Other incentives are also possible.

If you are interested in volunteering and a have preference in any of these 4 roles, please contact me at rich@sflovefest.org with what days and hours of availability you have in mind as well as a phone number I can reach you at on those days and your t-shirt size so that I can begin to put a manifest together.

On a final note, if you know of anyone else possibly interested in helping out, please feel free to point them my way.

Thanks!

can't speak for the kontrol guys, but i can tell you the list posted on the lovevolution site is just a partial one.

i'm pretty stoked for the listed float though... lee burridge, craig richards, bill patrick and, and, and... danny howells at last!

good lookin out roddy! :)

ok guys, we could still use a few more volunteers so if you're still on the fence about it... volunteers get all-access on the festival grounds including the vip area where all the djs hang out when they aren't playing. there is another incentive that i can't spell out at this time as that would reveal details about the festival that aren't public yet, but i'll let it be known asap...
