This filthy EP highlights SHDWPLAY’s signature “Minimal Punk” sound perfectly. Dark, bouncy techno grooves drag along dirty synths and sexy cynical vocals. The punk aesthetic is in full effect here, though it may be getting filtered through a glass of fine Berlin minimal/techno. SHDWPLAY is the unified alter-ego of Shoddy Lynn and Skyler Taugher. The unique sound that these LA-based DJ/Producers have created can be described no better than “Minimal Punk”. Their dark, dirty, minimalist, chugging tracks scrape along with one foot in the minimal/techno sound of Berlin while the other stands 6 inches deep in the filthy punk aesthetics of the old U.K. Their music is supported by DJs, Press, and Radio worldwide. DJ Shoddy Lynn holds down regular residencies at LA mainstays like King King, MNML Girls, techyLA, and iLounge, while getting her fair share of travelling gigs in places as exotic as Miami and Dubai! Xpansul-- I like the remix and the dub-ish edit.

Alland Byallo (Nightlight Music, Liebe Detail, KONTROL)-- I love all of these. I'll definitely play these when I drop techno sets. Shoddy is definitely one to watch for! The girl's got skilllllls!

Galen (Pacific Sound, Sunset Recordings)-- The Mando Soria Remix is the one for me. Deep, moody, and driving with great vocal treatments. It's been sweet to drop in as a late night groove.

Noah Pred (Thoughtless Music)-- The instrumental mixes are very nice.

Leon (Zaraza.ch)-- I like it!

Riyaz Khan (DIVERSIONS, 105.5FM-Toronto)-- These tracks are right up my alley! Dark, grimy, but groovy with some twisted vocals to boot- will definitely play these.

J.Rogers (Blipswitch, Surya Dub)-- I really enjoy the sound that these two have come up with. It's definitely minimal/techno, but it's got this punk edge to it that I can't get enough of. These tracks definitely grew on me very quickly, particularly Mando's bouncy remix. Love it!

Shren (WXYC 89.3 UNC Radio)-- Quality as usual!!
